Redirect with Load spinner on ASP.net MVC action

0

I would like to load a spinner when I navigate to another page. The page takes a long time to load as it has do a lot of background processing

  <a href="~/MyController/Index" >Default Results page</a>

I have a default student view on which I have the above Anchor tag.
I have added the div tag with a page loader gif

<div class="loader"></div>

The css is

.loader {
position: fixed;
left: 0px;
top: 0px;
width: 100%;
height: 100%;
z-index: 9999;
background-position: center;
background: url(../../Images/page-loader.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position-x: center;
background-position-y: center;
}

The Default controller index method

public ActionResult Index()
{
Processing();
return View("~/Views/Results/ResultsView.cshtml");
}

How do I call the MVC controller so that the Index controller is called and the page loads but with load spinner and once the loading is complete the page is populated with html.

    It sounds like you want an SPA (Single Page Application). That's probably the best place to start looking to do what you want. Beyond that, there are numerous client side javascript frameworks that assist on the client side.
