saltstack cassandra reports error pycassa not installed
I am trying to use SALT.MODULES.CASSANDRA. When I tried the command below it said I needed to install pycassa. So I used easy_install to install pip2.7 and then pip2.7 install pycassa. I did this to install this Python package into the system folder instead of a virtual environment so that salt could find it. But it does not find it, even though I can import it into the python2.7 interpreter, and gives the error show below. I am using Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS
sudo salt '*' cassandra.column_families
Gives this error:
