ASP.NET MVC Routing miss few methods and properties in .NET Core 2.2

-1

I have been migrating a .NET application to .NET Core 2.2 and the Routing is giving me a lot of problems.

IgnoreRoute, MapRoute, and UrlParameter are some of the things not available.

I get errors on these:

routes.IgnoreRoute("favicon.ico");
routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}");

IgnoreRoute above is not available in .NET Core

Then these are issues too

routes.MapRoute(routeDataItem.Name, routeDataItem.Url, defaults, namespaces);

and then

routes.MapRoute(
"Default",
"{controller}/{action}/{id}",
new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional });

UrlParameter is not available.

I was looking at some of the post on Stack Overflow and Google and it just looks a bit painful.

  • some of these seem to be the default MVC.NET setup. They would already be in .NET Core MVC application out of the box. I hope you are not trying to copy the classes containing setup from .NET Framework to Core
