Changing app_label without deleting model in migration

0

I have a large app in the admin panel and would like to separate in several smaller apps or sections so that the admin panel is cleaner. However, after I migrate, I want my models and tables stay where they are. How can I achieve this?

I have made 3 new apps. Lets call them app B, C and D. All my models are in another app (app A). Throughout the code, I have changed the app_label of my models to the corresponding app (B, C or D) and placed the corresponding table with db_table. Also, I have placed app B, C and D in INSTALLED_APPS. The project is using Django 1.10 by the way.

An example of the meta class would be:

class Meta:
app_label = 'B'
db_table = 'A_nameOfModel'

When I run python manage.py makemigrations and then python manage.py migrate all the tables of app A dissappear and in the migrations the models are deleted from app A
