How to switch between nav links and mobile menu responsively
So, I want a mobile menu in mobile mode and a regular navbar with links along the top in desktop mode.
I am using Angular 7 with Material.
Here is my current code:
<mat-sidenav-container
class="sidenav-container"
[style.marginTop.px]="(isHandset$ | async) ? 56 : 0"
>
<mat-sidenav
#drawer
class="sidenav"
fixedInViewport="false"
[attr.role]="(isHandset$ | async) ? 'dialog' : 'navigation'"
[mode]="over"
[opened]="false"
position="end"
>
<mat-toolbar>Menu</mat-toolbar>
<mat-nav-list>
<a mat-list-item href="#">Link 1</a>
<a mat-list-item href="#">Link 2</a>
<a mat-list-item href="#">Link 3</a>
</mat-nav-list>
</mat-sidenav>
<mat-sidenav-content>
<mat-toolbar color="primary">
<span>mentormeship-fe</span>
<span class="spacer"></span>
<button
type="button"
aria-label="Toggle sidenav"
mat-icon-button
(click)="drawer.toggle()"
*ngIf="isHandset$ | async"
>
<mat-icon aria-label="Side navigation toggle">
menu
</mat-icon>
</button>
<div *ngIf="!(isHandset$ | async)"> <------- is this the best way?
<a routerLink="#">Link 1</a>
<a routerLink="#">Link 2</a>
<a routerLink="#">Link 3</a>
</div>
</mat-toolbar>
</mat-sidenav-content>
</mat-sidenav-container>
Essentially, just like most modern navs that switch over to the hamburger when on mobile. Otherwise, they just have links along the top.
