Values in Dictionary doesn't upadate in NSDictionaryController

0

In a NSViewController I have a variable defined as @objc public styles:[String:[String:[Double]]] = [:]. It's connected to two NSDictionaryControllers in InterfaceBuilder. I can add, delete edit its content in a view. But problem is when I try to change values in a [Double] arrays.
Another view sends me a notification object as (name:String, values:[Int:Double]) where name is key of variable of second level dictionary, values is a dictionary where key is an index of element to change in [Double] array and value - new value to set.

    @objc func assign(_ notification:Notification) {

guard let change = notification.object as? (name:String, values:[Int:Double]) else {return}

for (axisName, styles) in styles {
if styles.keys.contains(change.name) {

for (index, value) in change.values {
print ("---------> change (_styles[axis]?[change.name]), (index)")

self.styles[axisName]?[change.name]?[index] = value

print ("---------> changed (_styles[axis]?[change.name])")
}
}
}

print statements shows me that values are set correctly.

--------->  change Optional([0.0, 0.0]), 1
---------> changed Optional([0.0, 0.0005033827319587628])
---------> change Optional([0.0, 0.0005033827319587628]), 1
---------> changed Optional([0.0, 0.0005033827319587628])
---------> change Optional([0.0, 0.0005033827319587628]), 1
---------> changed Optional([0.0, 0.0020135309278350513])
....

But if I change selection and go back to the same element, values remains unchanged, they have initial value 0.0. I tried to access those arrays via NSDictionaryController, but result was the same — no changes.

  • Similar issues: Key-Value Observe in Swift not showing insertions and removals in arrays and Is there a reason that Swift array assignment is inconsistent (neither a reference nor a deep copy)?. When you change an element in the arrray then the value of self.styles is replaced.
