Using pdf-parse and faitful render of blank line in text output

When viewing a PDF there will be times where there is a blank line between text blocks.

If I use pdf-parse to read the PDF file and convert to a text output, by default the simple example code loses the blank lines.

It is not clear from the documentation how to be faitful to the visual line breaks in the PDF.

Example input PDF - https://fountain.io/_downloads/Brick%20&%20Steel.pdf
see the blank line between 'Written by' and 'Stu Maschwitz'.

I want to convert the PDF to text and keep the blank line e.g.

Written by

Stu Maschwitz

and not:

Written by
Stu Maschwitz

The sample code I am using is:

const fs = require('fs');
const pdf = require('pdf-parse');

let PDF_FILE = 'brick.pdf';
let dataBuffer = fs.readFileSync(`${PDF_FILE}`);

pdf(dataBuffer, {normalizeWhitespace: false}).then(function(data) {

// number of pages
console.log(data.numpages);
// number of rendered pages
console.log(data.numrender);
// PDF info
console.log(data.info);
// PDF metadata
console.log(data.metadata);
// PDF.js version
// check https://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/getting_started/
console.log(data.version);
// PDF text
console.log(data.text);

});

options normalizeWhitespace as true or false makes no difference.
