I want to proxy image requests to an image server like so (no redirect, URL should stay the same):
https://mydomain/image/abc.jpg => https://images.mydomain.com/abc.jpg

The URL should stay and not be redirected.

I have the following setup:

Cloudflare DNS:

A mydomain.com 0.0.0.0 (orange cloud on, 0.0.0.0 is placeholder for my actual IP)

CNAME img backblazebucket (orange cloud on)

Cloudflare Settings:

SSL set to "Full"

.htaccess on mydomain.com:

RewriteRule ^image/(.*)$ http://img.mydomain.com/$1 [P]

This yields https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200171976-Error-1000-DNS-points-to-prohibited-IP

So I assume I have a cycle somewhere but I don't quite understand how or where. I definitely need to keep the orange cloud on (to get cloudflare's CDN benefits for the images).

Is there a way to do what I want? Maybe with a different proxying solution not relying on the [P] tag in htaccess?
