Why in my code dropEffect = “move” copy and paste the element instead of moving it
I'm trying to make a drag and drop system in JS but I have a little problem, when I drag and drop my element inside the dropzone, the element is in the dropzone but, i still have my old element outside the dropzone and I can't figure out why this is appening.
I try to follow the documentation about the drag and drop API on MDN.
Also try to google it but don't find an answer.
my html
<div id="dropzone">
</div>
<div class="note" draggable="true">
</div>
<style>
#dropzone {
width: 200px;
min-height: 200px;
border: 2px solid black;
padding: 2rem;
}
.note {
width: 200px;
height: 200px;
background: yellow;
}
</style>
my JS
var dropzone = document.getElementById('dropzone');
var note = document.querySelectorAll('.note');
note.forEach(function() {
addEventListener('dragstart', dragStart);
})
function dragStart(e) {
e.dataTransfer.setData('text/plain', e.target.className);
e.dataTransfer.effectAllowed = "move";
}
dropzone.addEventListener('dragover', dragOver);
dropzone.addEventListener('drop', drop);
function dragOver(e) {
e.preventDefault();
e.dataTransfer.dropEffect = "move";
}
function drop(e) {
e.preventDefault();
var data = e.dataTransfer.getData('text/plain');
var create = document.createElement('div');
create.classList.add(data);
e.target.appendChild(create);
}
