I need help configuring a debian server for a website and API.
This is the first time i am using Debian but i have used Ubuntu in the past.
I noticed that the iptables and ip6tables commands exist and i was able to add rules using those commands. I see the rules appear when running iptables -L or ip6tables -L. However, when i wanted to check the status of iptables i ran:
systemctl status iptables
this command returns "Unit iptables.service could not be found."
I'm confused. Is iptables running or is it even installed? Is there a better option like ufw for debian stretch?
Any guidance is appreciated.
iptables debian-stretch
