Force Webpage to Refresh on Kindle Touch

I am developing a web page that needs to refresh to show my latest blood glucose levels.

This page should refresh every minute or so (at least every 5 but ideally more frequently).

I have tried using a meta refresh and a PHP header refresh and both of these work on my Kindle paperwhite but not on the Kindle touch.

I need some alternative methods - ideally one that somebody knows works or one I can try.

To give a little more context, the page gets the data via a php file_get_contents API JSON request.

Rather than refreshing the page, would I be better off forcing the PHP to run over and over on interval some how?

Thanks

Henry
