Another Woocommerce product-column question

I've seen several questions about setting the number of product columns in Woocommerce, but no-one's brought up this exact problem: I can adjust the number of columns and products-per-page in Product Category Settings;
but if I set the number of columns to three and the number of products to six, the products appear as: first row -- one product in the left-hand column, second row-- three products (one per column), third row-- last two products, in the left-hand and middle columns.
I just want two rows, with three products per row.
