Problem sharing from iOS App to FB Messenger

from our iOS App I am using the following code to open FB Messenger and send an App Invite to download our app from the App Store to my friends:
if let url = URL(string: "fb-messenger://share/?link=" + KeyCenter.urlAppStoreDownload)
{
UIApplication.shared.open(url, options: [:], completionHandler: nil)
}
Now when FB Messenger opens the message to send it looks right with a link to the App Store, but the message received by my friend shows up with the text "nativethirdparty"
I have attached two screen shots, the first is what was sent, you will notice the link to iTunes under the image. The second one shows what was received... notice the text nativethirdparty.
This is what was sent:
The is what was received:
I have made posts to Facebook, Stackoverflow and others, but no one seems to be able to explain what I am doing wrong. I know developers do invites to FB Messenger, in fact there are several.
If there is anyone with knowledge of how to do this, I would welcome their input. Thanks for any help!!
