Use Azure Devops Rest API to get commits on branch not on master

0

As part of our PR gating with Azure devops, we merge a branch into master (on a host, not pushed), and build. I'm interested in knowing what commits are on the branch that's being merged but are not on master.

I've looked at some examples and documentation, I know how, given the build object, to get the hash for the source, and also the hash for master. I want to do something like this:
https://code.i-harness.com/en/q/1a1b2e
but not sure how.

Interestingly there's "stats" API for getting how far ahead/behind of master a branch is:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/azure/devops/git/stats?view=azure-devops-rest-5.0
but I'm not sure how to get the specific commit hashes.

Thanks so much!
