Flask - How to redirect to the same bootstrap tab from where the request came from?

0

My webpage have multiple tabs with the third tab having Form.

I want to display result of the Form on the same tab.

I tried render_template but it refreshes to the first tab.
I tried redirect url_for but again it refreshes to the first tab.
After some reading on _anchor, I tried it too but it's not working.

I need help to understand what I'm doing wrong ?

site.html

<div>
<ul class="nav nav-tabs">
<li class="active"><a data-toggle="tab" href="#tab1">TAB1</a></li>
<li><a data-toggle="tab" href="#tab2">TAB2</a></li>
<li><a data-toggle="tab" href="#tab3">TAB3</a></li>
</ul>
<div class="tab-content">
<div id="tab1" class="tab-pane fade">
<p>This is tab1</p>
</div>
<div id="tab2" class="tab-pane fade">
<p>This is tab2</p>
</div>
<div id="tab3" class="tab-pane fade">
<form action="/region/site" method='POST'>
<input type="text" name="site_name">
<input type="submit" value="Submit">
</form>
<p>Result:</p>
{% if result %}
<p>{{result}}</p>
{% endif %}
</div>
</div>
</div>

my flask content

@app.route('/region/site', methods=['GET','POST'])
def get_site():
result = None
if request.method == 'POST':
site = request.form.get('site_name')
if site:
result = myfunction(site) ### This func returns a table
else:
result = 'Input needed'
return redirect(url_for('get_site', _anchor='tab3', result=result))
return render_template('site.html', result=result)
