express routes defaulting to react routes

Multi tool use
My index routes are working but my app.get() functions are defaulting to frontend routes. I'm using react router dom on the frontend. And react is able to call these routes but I'm not able to route the client to the backened routes.
app.js
var express = require('express');
var path = require('path');
var favicon = require('serve-favicon');
var logger = require('morgan');
var cookieParser = require('cookie-parser');
var bodyParser = require('body-parser');
var cors = require('cors');
const session = require('express-session');
const passport = require('passport');
var index = require('./routes/index');
var app = express();
app.use(logger('dev'));
app.use(bodyParser.json());
app.use(bodyParser.urlencoded({ extended: false }));
app.use(cookieParser());
// Middle Ware
app.use(
session({
secret: "x02xf3xf7rtx9fxeexbbuxb1xe1x90xfe'xabxa6L6xddx8d[xccOxfe",
resave: false,
saveUninitialized: true
}));
app.use(passport.initialize());
app.use(passport.session());
app.use(express.static(path.join(__dirname, 'client/build'))).use(cors());
app.get('/callback', passport.authenticate("spotify", {
failureRedirect: 'https://my-app.herokuapp.com/login'}),
(req, res, body) => {
res.redirect('https://my-app.herokuapp.com/'
);
}
);
app.use('/', index);
app.get('*', (req, res) => {
res.sendfile(__dirname + '/client/build/index.html');
});
module.exports = app;
