How to prevent rebuilding of artifacts
I'm working on improving my Gitlab pipelines. I understand how to build and store artifacts for a week (see code). Also reusing these artifacts in steps after the prepare:dependencies step also works. But the prepare:dependencies step runs every time the pipelines are triggered. I would like the prepare:dependencies to run once a week. Is there a way to avoid rerunning this step every time a pipeline is triggered?
gitlab-ci.yml:

stages:
- Preparation
- Validate
prepare:dependencies:
stage: Preparation
script:
- npm ci
artifacts:
paths:
- node_modules/
expire_in: 1 week
