Logstash multiline filter plugin giving unexpected responses
I have an application which can do 6 types of events. Each event is handled differently by the application and the steps taken are logged. So i wanted to see all the logs for each event in kibana.
I used logstash multiline filter plugin to stack up all the logs for each events. It worked, but it is giving weird result.
My configuration looks like this.
multiline {
pattern => "I created a pattern file which has all the patterns"
what => "previous"
max_age => 15
}
The actual logs my application creates:
logline 1.......
logline 2.......
logline 3.......
logline 4......
logline 5......
logline 6......
logline 7......
What i see in Kibana after adding logstash configuration:
logline 1......
logline 2......
logline 2......
logline 3......
logline 4......
logline 5......
logline 6......
logline 5......
logline 6......
logline 7......
Not sure why the log lines are concatenated multiple times?
