Reverse MongoDB list with Handlebars
I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to list the DB items in Mongo from newest listing to oldest, right now in handlebars I'm using
<section class="section announcments-section">
<div class="container is-fluid announcement-container">
<div class="columns is-multiline">
{{#each announcements}}
<div class="column is-4">
<div class="card announcement-card">
<a href="/announcements/{{_id}}">
<div class="card-image">
<figure class="image">
<img src="{{image}}" class="pickgradient">
</figure>
</div>
<div class="card-content announcement-container__post-title">
<h5>{{title}}</h5>
</div>
</div>
</a>
</div>
{{/each}}
</div>
</div>
</section>
it's listing everything from oldest entry to newest and since it's a blog/announcements page would like the newest post first and oldest post last.
Any ideas how this would be accomplished?
Here is what is relevant from the express app.js file
// SCHEME SETUP FOR THE ANNOUNCEMENTS PAGE
const announcementsSchema = new mongoose.Schema({
title: String,
image: String,
description: String
});
const Announcements = mongoose.model("Announcements",
announcementsSchema);
// ----------- ANNOUCEMENTS SECTION -----------
// ANNOUNCEMENTS GET ROUTE
app.get("/announcements", function(req, res){
// Get all Announcements from database
Announcements.find({}, function(err, allAnnouncements){
if (err){
console.log(err);
} else {
res.render("announcements", {announcements:allAnnouncements});
}
});
});

Line 344 usesort()
method to re-order newest post first and oldest post last i.e.Announcements.find({ }).sort({'_id': -1}).exec(function(err, allAnnouncements){ if (err){ console.log(err); } else { res.render("announcements", {announcements:allAnnouncements}); } });
