headerRight setting inside class does not render menu item

0

The following code works inside App.js and renders the menu in all screens, however I also want a right side menu on certain screens. I tried adding a if statement below to render the headerRight on certain screens but it didn't work. I tried pasting headerRight in static navigationOptions on individual screens, that didn't work... so now I am wondering what the best way to manage the right header button is.. I want to show diff buttons based on different screens that lead to different sections.

Assume my headerRight code that I tested was the same as headerLeft below.

TabNavigator.navigationOptions = ({
navigation
}) => {
const {
routeName
} = navigation.state.routes[navigation.state.index];
const headerTitle = routeName;

return {
headerLeft: ( <
TouchableOpacity onPress = {
() => navigation.navigate('SettingsMenu')
} <
Icon name = "ios-menu"
size = {
25
}
/> <
/TouchableOpacity>
),
headerTitle,
};
};
