Error “Access a JSON object using dot notation:”

0

When I run my code, my output get this message "Access a JSON object using dot notation:". I was expecting to get as output "14577". What am I doing wrong? How do I fix my function to return the course_org_id? I do not understand why it is no working. I am just trying to get the course_org_id. Any idea what is wrong?

function findCourseOrgID() {
var myObj, i, j, x = "";
myObj = {
"PagingInfo": {
"Bookmark": "14577",
"HasMoreItems": false
},
"items": [{
"identifier": "14577",
"path": "/content/enforced2/",
"name": "test course",
"code": "test course"
}]
};
for (i in myObj.items) {
course_org_id = myObj.items[i].identifier;
course_org_path = myObj.items[i].path;
course_org_name = myObj.items[i].name;
course_org_code = myObj.items[i].code;
}

return course_org_id;
}
document.getElementById("demo").innerHTML = findCourseOrgID();

<body>
<p id="demo"></p>
</body>

    Works fine for me: jsfiddle.net/khrismuc/o1eL0dj5 Where are you running this? There's no such thing as a JSON object, so I don't think that's an "official" error message.
