How can I execute SQL Server stored procedure as Quicksight Custom SQL?
I want to show the dashboard with data stored procedure is returning. The stored procedure has one parameter. I am trying to execute EXEC sp_test 8
where 8 is my parameter.
If I put select statement directly, then it is working fine but does not work with stored procedure.
- Stored procedure name:
sp_test
- Parameter name:
@IdentityId
- Parameter value: 8

Side note: in SQL Server, you should not use thesp_
prefix for your stored procedures. Microsoft has reserved that prefix for its own use (see Naming Stored Procedures), and you do run the risk of a name clash sometime in the future. It's also bad for your stored procedure performance. It's best to just simply avoidsp_
and use something else as a prefix - or no prefix at all!
