Use market or http for Play Store liink

0

My mobile app often goes through mandatory updates. After a few days of pushing the new version live, we make it required by the server.

When this happens, the user is redirected to the Play Store for an update. In the past, I've been able to use market links but recently a user reported that she was unable to see the option to update until I shared an https link with her.

What is the latest and recommended method to direct users to the latest version of an app in the Play Store?

Example links below:

market://details?id=com.myapp

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myapp
