How to Intercept a Nested Method in Java EE
PROBLEM: Need to log time of every single execution of every specified method.
RESEARCH: Tried Intellij Idea profiling plugins. Some didn't work, some are expensive. Some are overkill.
In code this can be easily achieved at start and end of method body or as calls to some common class.
A more neat approach is to use Interceptors (with declared interceptor-classes or even by means of interceptor binding custom annotation). But only the entry-method of class is intercepted (even in case of method intersoptors annotation), whereas I need some deeper ones (nested).
Bean class:
@Stateless
@LocalBean
@Interceptors({ProfilerInterceptor.class, LoggingInterceptor.class})
public class ComparisonService {
@Interceptors({ProfilerInterceptor.class})
public method aMethod(){
bMethod();
}
@Interceptors({ProfilerInterceptor.class})
public method bMethod(){
// Logics for time-measurement.
}
}
Interceptor class:
@Interceptor
@Profiled
public class ProfilerInterceptor {
@Inject private Logger logger;
private Object returnedValue;
@AroundInvoke
public Object measureExecutionTime(InvocationContext context) throws Exception {
LocalDateTime start = LocalDateTime.now();
try {
returnedValue = context.proceed();
return returnedValue;
} finally {
LocalDateTime end = LocalDateTime.now();
long difference = Duration.between(start, end).toMillis();
logger.info(
"n************************************************************************n"
+ context.getMethod().getName()
+ "() - "
+ difference
+ " мс");
}
}
}
Bean XML descriptor:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<beans
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
bean-discovery-mode="all"
xmlns="http://xmlns.jcp.org/xml/ns/javaee"

<interceptors>
<class>my.package.LoggerInterceptor</class>
<class>my.package.ProfilerInterceptor</class>
</interceptors>
</beans>
QUESTION: How to intercept a nested method or realise a kind of decorator pattern (wrapper) on a method level?
