The library com.google.android.gms:play-services-measurement-base is being requested by various other libraries at 15.0.4,15.0.4]], but resolves to 16.1.0. Disable the plugin and check your dependencies tree using ./gradlew :app:dependencies.

I am getting this error while adding dependencies. By disabling the plugin, the issue resolved but authentication at backend is not being performed

One of dependencies in your project declares that it requires com.google.android.gms:play-services-measurement-base version 15.0.4.

  1. Try pinning the library com.google.android.gms:play-services-measurement-base to the specific (required version) by an explicit dependency:

implemenetation "com.google.android.gms:play-services-measurement-base:15.0.4"

  1. Locate the dependency that requires com.google.android.gms:play-services-measurement-base:15.0.4 and check whether that library has updated version which requires 16.1.0
